Contract support includes reviewing draft agreements for office space, equipment, supplies or other items in order to ensure that the practice’s goals and objectives are met through its contractual obligations. Having in house counsel review these arrangements also reduces cost and time. The legal department tracks upcoming terminations, drafts extensions or other documents on an as needed basis. Risk management is a key component to ensure that a business is reducing enterprise risk to the fullest extent possible. The legal team works with other members of management to ensure that risk is reduced from a medical malpractice standpoint, as well as compliance, employee relations and other areas. Litigation may not always be avoided however. The litigation support services include being a liaison between the practice and outside counsel, ensuring all relevant documents are produced timely and physicians, executives, and employees are counseled appropriately.
